FTI-Andersch strengthens leadership team for transformation and carve-outs /// Gero Güllmeister joins the Executive Board – Christopher Weiss and Philipp Oemler become Senior Managing Directors
January 7, 2026
- FTI-Andersch

With these promotions, FTI-Andersch is strengthening its restructuring business and at the same time aligning its management team with mandates in which operational and financial stabilization increasingly converge with transformation and transaction-related issues – such as carve-outs, portfolio streamlining, programs to increase profitability, or the further development of existing business models under increased time and results pressure.
“The macroeconomic situation and the structural challenges facing numerous industries will continue to lead to far-reaching decisions in companies in 2026,” says Christian Säuberlich, spokesman for the FTI-Andersch Executive Board and Country Leader of FTI Consulting in Germany. “In many cases, it will be crucial to closely link operational and financial restructuring, strategic transformation and, depending on the situation, transaction-related issues.”
Transformation with new responsibilities on the Executive Board
Gero Güllmeister will join the future five-member Executive Board of FTI-Andersch, where his responsibilities will include ensuring even closer integration of business transformation and restructuring issues.
The focus is on programs that are implemented during or after a restructuring or initiated at an early stage in order to further develop competitiveness, cost structure, and operational performance in a targeted manner. Güllmeister has been with the company since FTI-Andersch was founded in 2012. He has been responsible for numerous restructuring and efficiency programs in industry and manufacturing.
Before joining FTI-Andersch, he, like the other board members, worked at KPMG.
Carve-outs and transformation expertise expanded in partnership
Christopher Weiss will continue to expand the carve-outs and transaction-related services division as the new Senior Managing Director in Munich and will also strengthen team development and presence in southern Germany. Since moving from KPMG's deal advisory practice to FTI-Andersch in 2015, he has been advising companies on restructuring and financing processes as well as M&A transactions. One focus here is increasingly on situations related to carve-outs for transaction and restructuring purposes.
Philipp Oemler joins as Senior Managing Director to strengthen the Business Transformation division, particularly the management and implementation of transformation and efficiency programs. His focus is on restructuring, cost optimization, operational due diligence, and performance improvement. His core industries are mechanical and plant engineering, software companies, and industrial production. He previously worked for PwC and in the logistics industry, among others.
“We are growing not only through external senior hires, but above all through the development of our own managers,” says Christian Säuberlich. “Gero, Christopher, and Philipp have helped shape mandates and our company over many years, taking on responsibility and training others. The fact that they are now taking on their new roles is the result of consistent development work. We are very proud of this and congratulate them on this significant step.”
