Option Analyses

The life cycle of a company also includes strategic decisions with long-term implications. In addition to financial aspects, a wide range of stakeholder interests must also be considered here – it is necessary to sound out the space of action in order to initiate the successful (re-)orientation.

Overview

With option analyses, the space of action is developed in detail, and thus comparable, resilient alternatives are derived. We focus on concrete, pragmatic solutions. In this way, we help companies to position themselves for the long term.

The effects of the developed options can be simulated in advance with scenario analyses. The result is a reliable and comprehensible basis for decision-making.

Questions for our team

In which situations are option analyses advisable for companies?

In challenging situations, it is important for companies and financiers to explore the space of action from different perspectives. In such situations, FTI-Andersch helps to find resilient solutions at the required pace. With our option analyses, we ensure objectivity and transparency and thus bring the stakeholders together.

There usually is a wide range of options. How do you help companies make the right choice?

As part of the option analysis, we take a holistic view of the company, have many years of industry and negotiation experience, and are free of conflicts of interest – historically grown hierarchies and a distorted picture of the status quo often obstruct companies' view of the space of action. Our detailed scenario analyses are very helpful here – companies and stakeholders can see very concretely how decisions will affect them.

People are often looking for a "quick panacea”. How do you deal with such expectations?

For me, it is important to expand the space of action. "Cookie-cutter approaches" often seem attractive at first, but frequently fail due to a lack of integration of the specific company and market factors, and therefore also implementation. On the other hand, those who understand their status quo, options for action and their effects lay the foundation for a successful realignment. Particularly in view of the frequently complex interests involved and the long-term consequences, a balanced and well-considered approach is more effective than quick fixes.
