Manufacturing Excellence

Whether global competition, digitization or changing customer requirements: Those who want to survive in the dynamic market environment need to constantly improve. How can companies successfully master this task in the long term?

Overview

We support our clients in sustainably increasing profitability and operational performance. The focus is on increasing efficiency and effectiveness in the key value creation processes. In addition to optimizing individual areas, we also provide support in the holistic optimization of the value chain, not only from a profitability perspective, but also with regard to the optimization of ESG criteria and the reduction of risks.

Manufacturing excellence can be implemented in two main ways: large one-off projects or continuous improvement in small steps. Our experience shows that in most projects it seems to make sense to start with a large project and transfer the successes into a continuous improvement process (CIP).
If you want to transform yourself into a learning and continuously improving organization, you have to standardize all structures, processes and behaviors and constantly put them to the test. The company must be enabled to continuously improve its processes, reduce waste and meet customer requirements. Behind this is the simple but comprehensive question: What benefit does the organization or a process provide to the customer?

With our many years of functional and industry-specific expertise, we succeed in creating pragmatic approaches tailored to your specific requirements – so that you can take a leading and highly profitable position in an intense and volatile business environment.

How FTI-Andersch supports you

Questions for our team

How would you describe FTI-Andersch's approach around manufacturing excellence?

We take a holistic approach to manufacturing excellence because this is not a one-off project; it must become part of a company's DNA. With the network of FTI Consulting, we also have access to international experts for global projects. I would also like to emphasize here our cooperative approach to joint project work – for us, this also includes touring the production facility in our overalls.

How does FTI-Andersch realize value enhancement potential?

We rely on a clearly structured and targeted method for identifying and leveraging value. In this way, we are able to present the customer with the first value enhancement potentials after a short period of time and initiate the implementation. We take a very pragmatic approach, i.e. we work directly on the store floor, integrate the company's internal expertise and guarantee an efficient procedure with small teams. This is also ensured by our modular project approach ranging from the analysis of a single site to the optimization of the entire site group.

What exactly do site-based and cross-site analyses look like?

Basically, the focus is on the entire value stream. Depending on the task and intensity, individual focal points can also be set. With our developed, systematic approach of plant assessment – which is not, as the name suggests, only limited to plants (productive areas) – consisting of interviews, on-site appointments as well as evaluation and interpretation of key figures in the company context, we can identify site-related as well as cross-site fields of action. The scalability goes from single value streams to multi-site production networks with several stages of the value chain.
